after walking around a bit in grand central station, we took the subway, then a bus to chelsea to see the work of do ho suh, a korean artist, at the lehmann maupin gallery. suh's work deals with identity with respect to the individual versus the collective. here, he has casted semi-translucent human figures in various colors of orange, yellow, red and installed them in the shape of a cyclone. it appears as if each rests upon the shoulder of another. looks like a lot of work to get it just right.
